The level of cushioning in a shoe will determine how it feels when your foot lands. More cushioning means less impact and extra comfort. Less cushioning means a faster and more responsive running experience.
Road running style
Forward rolling
Every shoe offers a unique running sensation or 'ride' depending on its design.
Stable: A supportive feel for added stability. Suitable for runners of any level.
Neutral: Works with the natural rolling motion of your foot for a smooth ride.
Forward rolling: Engineered to encourage forward momentum, with energy return you can feel.
Race: Maximum propulsion meets responsiveness for the moments when speed matters.
Lacing
Standard
Speed lacing: Elasticated laces that you don't need to tie. Slip your shoes on and off with ease and speed. Tip: If you need a tighter fit, just retie the knots at the ends.
Standard lacing: Classic shoelaces, keeps your feet secure.
Hook and loop fastener: Used to secure powerstraps on our shoes. Press together to close, pull apart to open.
Star lacing: An elasticated lace looped in a star-crossed shape keeps you extra secure in the shoe, providing stability and support. For more lacing techniques, read this article.
Heel to toe drop
8mm
Heel to toe drop is the difference in height between the heel and the forefoot. In a shoe with a drop of 7mm, your heel will sit 7mm higher than your forefoot. Shoes with a lower drop tend to place more load on the ankles and are generally better for midfoot and forefoot strikers. Shoes with a higher drop tend to place more load on the knees and hips and generally better for heel strikers.
